Painting the Sky: The Architecture of ‘Northern Lights’

As a creator, there are certain projects that demand everything from you. Northern Lights is one of those. I didn't want to just create a "cold" scent; I wanted to architect the impossible: the smell of light dancing across a frozen sky in Reykjavík.

I am incredibly proud of this formulation. It has become one of our absolute bestsellers because it captures a sense of awe that is rarely found in a bottle. It is a blueprint of Glacial Luxury—invigorating, celestial, and deeply anchored in the Icelandic earth.

The Architecture of the Aurora

To build this, I had to think in layers of temperature, sweetness, and ancient stone:

  1. The Invigorating Opening: I led with Icy Frosted Blackberries and Sharp Peppermint. This is an immediate, high-voltage hit of cold, dark fruit. It’s designed to feel like that first gasp of sub-zero air at midnight—sharp, exhilarating, and perfectly clear.
  2. The Celestial Heart: To build the "walls" of this scent, I blended Sparkling Sugar Crystals and Delicate Sweet Violets. This is the structural magic. It provides a "glowing" heart that mimics the shimmering lights, adding a sophisticated, ethereal texture to the frost.
  3. The Primal Finish: The foundation is where the island of Iceland settles. I anchored the build in Cold Sea Ice, a Primal Lava Rock accord, and Soft Creamy Vanilla. It’s a grounded, mineral finish that feels like standing on a volcanic beach while the sky burns above you—raw, powerful, and unexpectedly smooth.

A Masterclass in "Mineral-Luxe"

Northern Lights is for the maker who wants to lean into the 2026 trend of "Atmospheric Cold"—scents that feel clean, expensive, and otherworldly. It’s a powerhouse for luxury spa collections, signature perfumes, and winter candle pours that need to feel like a destination.
